Sew

Ultimamente tenho tido algum tempo extra. Não é algo que me agrade muito porque significa que, dentro de algum tempo, apareceram 500 coisas para fazer ao mesmo tempo. Mas tenho procurado aprender coisas novas para variar.

Sempre quis aprender a costurar mas o dilema de adquirir uma máquina de costura levava-me a adiar, todos os dias, a tarefa de começar. Por isso inscrevi-me num workshop para saber se seria capaz e conhecer melhor o que é importante numa máquina de costura. O resultado foi muito interessante: não só conheci algumas ferramentas que ajudam em muito o resultado dos trabalhos, e nas quais é bom investir, como reconheci que tenho algum talento para juntar padrões e fazer combinações de tecidos. Fiquei com o bichinho e não penso noutra coisa senão em começar um novo projecto!

E talvez fosse mesmo necessário eu dar este passo. É que tive a sorte de ter alguém na família que me ofereceu a sua máquina de costura, por não saber usar e não ter disponibilidade e condição física para o fazer. Sorte a minha: a máquina é nova, de uma marca muito reconhecida e o modelo é o ideal para começar e continuar pela vida fora!

Lately I have had some extra time. Is not something that pleases me.. because it means that,  soon, it will appear 500 things to do at once! But I tried to take this time to learn new things.

I always wanted to learn how to sew but this dilemma of acquiring a sewing machine led me to postpone the beginning of a new hobby. So I went to a workshop to know if I would be able to do it and what is important to have in a sewing machine. The result was very interesting: I met some tools that help the beginners to have a good result in their projects and I recognize that I have some talent to join patterns and make combinations of fabrics. I got "the bug" and I am always thinking about starting a new project.

Perhaps it was really necessary for me to take this step. Plus, I was lucky to have someone in the family who offered me her sewing machine, since she does not know how to use it and don't have the physical conditions to do it. Lucky me: the machine is new, from a very recognized brand and the model is ideal to start and continue throughout life!
